My two daughters Ashley and Kristen started riding Dressage in May of 2007. Ashley is 13 and Kristen is 11.  Both girls are on the honor roll and are very hard-working students. Even though they have only been riding a short time, they are both truly "naturals".

They started training in Florida with two wonderful Dressage trainers that really taught them to have a good seat and the basics of Dressage. They entered their first schooling show Feb of 2008 and had a great time. In Florida we were leasing a Connemara pony for Ashley and a Welsh cob for Kristen. As we all know, ponies will be ponies, but it taught them to be strong riders.

My family was notified of our transfer to Washington, so we set out to find two horses to lease in Washington online. We found Sawda and bookmarked the web site as a possibility. When we arrived in Washington one of the first things we did was drive to meet Herman, Kathy, and Meghan. On our way we had a feeling it was going to be perfect.

The girls tried several horses while working with Meghan until we had found a perfect match for each of them. Ashley is currently leasing and Riding "Sawda Shetan" and Kristen is leasing and Riding "Sawda Elegance". They ride several days a week and take weekly training lesson with Meghan. The girls are learning so much from Meghan she is a very gifted trainer.

With show season right around the corner, the girls have been training very hard. At their first "A" show, The Cascade Arabian Youth Benefit on May 7, 2009, they both will be showing at Training Level 1. Shetan and Ellie are both so talented it should be a very exciting show season for everyone.

If the girls aren't riding you'll find them spoiling Ellie and Shetan. It’s great to watch how these horses just love them back. It truly is a great opportunity to lease such magnificent horses for Ashley and Kristen. We are very happy to be a part of Sawda Equestrian Center and looking forward to seeing everyone at the schooling shows.

SHOW RESULTS!!!

Sawda Shetan is off to a great start this show year.

His 1st show was the Northwest Heritage Arabian show held April 10, 2008. He placed in Dressage 1st Level Test 2 ATR with a score of 60.55% under Anne Appleby. Then he showed in Sport Horse in Hand Geldings ATH and was 2nd out of 15 horses, missing 1st place by .60%.

His 2nd show was the Cascade Arabian Benefit show on May 8th. He scored 64.8% in Training Level Test 3 ATR . Then he was 2nd of 11 horses in First Level Test 2 ATR with 61.94%, missing 1st place by .40%! The judge was Pamela Penz.

Stacy Giordano showed him in both shows, since Meghan was awaiting the arrival of her baby who made his debut May 1. Way to go Stacy!!

Now he will be going to the Arabian Sport Horse Region V Championships at the end of May. We are aiming for 1st place next time. Wish us luck!!!
